René García-Herneandez

René García-Herneandez (Él/he/him), is the Co-founder and principal consultant of Bienestar Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting (@bienestarccc on Instagram / www.bienestarccc.com).


Originally from Puruandiro Michoacan, Mexico, René completed his undergraduate education at California State University Northridge. He graduated receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Dance Pedagogy. René graduated from California State University Channel Islands with a Master’s in Education and Leadership Administration.

René combines a robust understanding of praxis with a passion for translating theory into tangible, impactful outcomes. His work is rooted in a commitment to creating real, measurable change for diverse communities that are people-centered. 

Involvement


René is the Vice Chair of the Santa Barbara Immigration Legal Defense Center Board and served as a board member at Adelante Charter School, Creative Children’s Project, and served on the community advisory council for SB Bike and COAST. 


He is co-founder of Infinity Independent Winterguard (a non-profit), Executive Director of the Arts Mentorship Program (AMP), and Director of Community Engagement at AHA! René has created his unique path by creating a personal and professional career focused on liberating education, unity, and solidarity in action.
